Mozambique

Tropical - Untouched - Secluded

Mozambique is rich in scenic beauty and natural resources, is biologically and culturally diverse, and has a tropical climate.

It has some of the most pristine dive sites in the world, and with over 2,500km of un-spoilt beaches, it's the ideal location if one is looking for a quiet, secluded beach destination.
The deep channels that flow off the coast of Mozambique offer some of the best big game fishing for Marlin and Sail Fish.

The Bazaruto and Quirimbas Archipelagos are some of the most romantic and secluded beach destinations in the world - making them ideal for honeymooners.

“When you leave Africa, as the plane lifts, you feel that more than leaving a continent, you’re leaving a state of mind. Whatever awaits you at the other end of your journey will be of a different order of existence.”

- Francesca Marciano

Highlights

Bazaruto Archipelago

Visitors exploring these islands will find huge sand dunes, forest, savannah, inland lakes and wetlands. These islands boast stunning deserted white beaches, swaying palm trees and shallow turquoise waters. Mozambique visitors who would just like to get away from it all will find Bazaruto just the place to relax, sip cocktails and indulge in delicious seafood beach dinners and perhaps sail away on a dhow for a castaway picnic!

Inhambane

An attractive city, steeped in history and surrounded by coconut palms and magnificent beaches, this is the main centre for stunning resorts and beaches like Tofo and Barra. A busy centre with an airport and harbour as well as banks, petrol stations, shops, markets and sidewalk cafés, the city is situated on a bay and one can enjoy a drink at the harbour watching the dhows sail back and forth to Maxixe.

Vilanculos

This town is a few kilometres inland from the bay where visitors will find restaurants, bars, banks, fuel, and markets. The local airport boasts daily local and international flights. The markets have lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and various arts and crafts can be found and purchased. It's a popular tourist destination and has a variety of accommodation options from hotels to lodges and self-catering resorts on beautiful white beaches.

Ilha De Mozambique

This island with its tropical climate and mix of buildings, where time has virtually stood still, has an exciting collection of religions and cultures living side by side. There is much natural beauty that is only now starting to emerge from decades of relative isolation. Step out of your comfort zone and tour through Makuti Town, visit forts, cathedrals and mansions and buy beautiful local jewelry.

Pemba

Pemba is the gateway to the beautiful Quirimbas Archipelago Islands. Pemba Bay is one of the deepest natural bays in the world. The surrounding landscape is characterised by barefoot beach lodges and lush forests of Baobab trees growing right down to the shoreline. It has all the modern amenities you could need, such as airports, shops, banks, cafes and restaurants and of course, bars.

Beaches

From Ponta do Ouro in the south to Guludo Beach in the far north, and all the wonderful island beaches in between, one is spoilt for choice. Whether looking for a deserted beach to swim and snorkel in peace or a livelier spot where one can watch fishermen bringing their catch in on wooden dhows, Mozambique offers magnificent beach holidays.
